Davey  and  charlie  shared  half  a  box  of crackers.

They  each  had  20  crackers.

Davey  and  Charlie  ate  20  crackers  each  so  I  add  20  to  20  and  got  40.

When  Davey  and  Charlie  shared  half  a  box  it  had  40  left.

so  if  the  box  had  40  left  then  they  ate  40.

They  had  40  and   the  box  had  40  add  those  two  40+40=80  I  got  80.

So  the  answer  is  80  crackers  altogether.
